The biggest key to training is work-life balance. Or basically, figuring out a way to work hard at everything you do. Working +40 hours a week, coaching college student-athletes and junior high/high school students multiple days a week, training for atleast 2 hours a day - sometimes twice a day, traveling to 2 meets +4 hours away every weekend, housesitting, feeding my cats...anyway you get the point.
There is a point when you must say "no" to the busy entries on your to-do lists. Become less busy and become more productive.
I listed all my life activities, categorized them to time/money/energy for good and bad, and time of week/frequency. This exercise lead me to realize that I wasted my time and worried about things I do not care about. I can change this, and it's a great realization.
Any person has a long list, but how does any person get it all done? Answer: They don't. No one can do everything but everyone can do something. Figure out your priorities; focus your activities.
